Celebrating 80 Years of Love: A Multigenerational Family Session at Discovery Lake
Some family milestones deserve to be celebrated in a big way. Recently, I had the immense honor of capturing a gorgeous, multi-generational family portrait session at Discovery Lake in San Diego County to celebrate a very special occasion: Grandma’s 80th birthday!
Coming all the way together to honor her, this incredible family brought so much warmth, laughter, and style to the park. With a coordinated color palette of striking red, crisp white, and soft light gray, every single shot popped against the lush green backdrop of North County.
Honoring a Legacy
At the heart of the celebration were Grandma and Grandpa. Grandpa is a proud Vietnam War veteran, and seeing them side-by-side, smiling under the trees, was truly something special. We made sure to capture plenty of sweet, quiet moments of just the two of them, as well as portraits with their wonderful children and growing grandchildren.
Fun, Laughter, and All the Combinations
Extended family sessions are always so much fun because they give us the chance to mix and match. During our time at Discovery Lake, we made sure to capture:

The kids brought so much playful energy to the session, and watching the whole family laugh together proved that love truly spans the decades.
